John Van Beveren PhD
Principal Lawyer
John is the principal lawyer at Van Beveren Lawyers. His particular interest is in providing a compassionate experience of the legal system, particularly family law. John’s first degree was in Psychology, and he has undertaken extensive studies in pastoral care and served as a Director on the board of Spiritual Care Australia.
After a PhD in Economics and Commerce at University of Melbourne John served in a distinguished career leading educational institutions and lecturing in law, marketing, eCommerce and IT Management. Building on past experience, he studied a law degree at RMIT University and Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice at Leo Cussen Institute. He was admitted to the Supreme Court Roll in 2010 and launched Van Beveren Lawyers not long after. John is also on the role of the High Court of Australia.
John is especially attuned to the needs of small enterprise and startups after running his own educational centres and online businesses for over ten years. John’s support for local business extends over his many years providing mentoring and legal education to regional business groups, and serving on local government as councillor.
